From the age of 3 until I reached 11 years old, I attended Herington House school.
I have very fond memories of my time at primary school, where I enjoyed taking part in various activites, such as drama, cookery and art and also did well in terms of my studies, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My favourite subject being History and Art.

At the age of 11, I then moved on to Brentwood School, click here to visit website.
Secondary school was daunting as it was so much larger than Herington House but luckily I soon fitted in and made friends by taking part in activities like tennis and hockey where I was part of the school teams. There were also clubs to take part in in our spare time, such as Art and food technology, which were again my favourites as I enjoy being creative.

In terms of my studying, I was delighted with my GCSE exam results, where I achieved:
  • 2A*
  • 8A
  • 1B

I then moved on to the Sixth Form, again at Brentwood where I studied for my A Level exams, in which I studied:
  • English
  • Psychology
  • Business Studies

with grades of:
Employment

Whilst studying in the first year of university, I also worked for highly fashionable high street retailer Topshop.
I worked in the popular branch in the Manchester Arndale Centre where my position was a sales assistant. I was hired as temporary staff for help leading up to the extremely busy Christmas period, meaning I worked there from September until December.
I enjoyed my role within the company as I am a huge fan of the retailer, along with a vast majority of other girls my age and it was interesting to gain some experience working for a retailer which I often study as part of my course.
Along with gaining more an insight into the retail fashion industry, I also learnt some valuable skills such as dealing with the public and how to cope with working in such a busy environment.

Aswell as this, whilst on holiday from university I have also been fortunate enough to manage to organise work experience at a variety of fashion magazine companies where I have helped out in the fashion departments, helping around the office and assisting on photo shoots.
This experience has been great, and it has convinced me that this is the career path I wish to take in the future as I enjoyed it so much.
I managed to gain a real insight into how the fashion and magazine industry work, liasing with others working in this area as well as design houses and PR companies. It was a great experience which widely increased my knowledge of this area and persuaded me to aim for this in the future.
The magazines which I worked at were:
  • Harpers Bazaar
  • Company
  • Prima
  • Essentials
